Proof of identification must be provided upon collection of your cycling equipment. (E.g. driving licence, passport, photo ID, etc.)
A damage deposit of £20 (subject to proof of identity) is required when hiring equipment and can be cash, card or leave driving licence/car keys in lieu, which will be refunded/returned upon return of the equipment in a satisfactory condition. All cycles and equipment are thoroughly checked after each hire, and any damage found will be charged for. Equipment booked in advance is guaranteed. We can arrange to deliver and collect bikes at pre-arranged times and location within a 5-mile radius if agreed at the time of booking for an extra charge of £2.
Please cycle sensibly, with respect for others and the natural habitat.
Cyclists are expected to follow The Highway Code - in particular the 'Extra Rules for Cyclists' (Rules 187-211).
Anyone cycling in a discourteous or unsafe manner while in possession of Mikes Bikes equipment will have the equipment re-possessed with no refund of hire charges.
Cycle helmets are provided free of charge and all cyclists are strongly advised to use them. Adults who decline our offer of a free helmet must sign our Helmet Waiver declaration.
All young persons (age 17 or younger) MUST wear a cycle helmet and they will not be issued a bicycle without one.
Young persons (age 17 or younger) will only be issued with equipment when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Theft of a bicycle will be the responsibility of the hirer, who will be subject to a charge of £150 to cover the replacement of the bicycle and its accessories.
All equipment must be returned to the agreed collection point at the correct time as indicated on the booking form. We reserve the right to charge an additional £15 for late returns for each cycle.
No refunds or reductions will be given for any equipment that is returned early for any reason.
Mikes Bikes reserves the right not to hire equipment to an individual.
